The Chinese New Year is one of Taiwanese traditional festivals. Usually, Taiwanese will have reunion dinner one day prior to the Chinese New Year Day which was also known Chinese New Year's Eve.

On that day, elders usually gave red envelops with money inside and every family member gathered together to have bountiful feast. With the notion of providing a great opportunity to allow all non-Taiwanese students studied at NUK to understand and learn the traditional customs of Taiwan, the Office of International Affairs held “ 2017 Chinese New Year Eve Reunion Banquet” for the all our non-Taiwanese students who planned to stay in Taiwan during this big holiday.

The banquet was held on January 19th, 2017 at a local restaurant located near Kaohsiung Ciaotou Sugar Refinery with 25 participants, including the NUK President Leon S. L. Wang and Dean of Office of International Affairs. Through this experience, the NUK hopes the participants may be able to realize the main purpose of the festival and appreciate the beauty of Taiwanese culture.
