The number of the overseas exchange student is growing year by year. There are 145 exchange students from all around the world in this semester. They are from China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and Austria, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The number of students from South East Asia have grown significantly.
In response to the growth of international students, the Office of International Affairs recruited students to join the "International Youth Ambassadors Group" with conducted training courses. The training courses included professional knowledge such as cultural differences in Southeast Asian countries which included SDGs related issues. A total of 28 youth ambassadors completed the training program.
Yesterday, on the morning of September 11, school opening ceremony for new students began. All youth embassadors with unique uniform appeared in front of the stage. The uniforms designed by OIA. The comfort and spiritual appearance of the uniform will benefit and have a positive impact to the sister schools and other countries in the future.
In order to match the flight schedule of the arrival time to Taiwan, the OIA arranged three buses to the Kaohsiung Airport. The youth ambassadors provided services such as pick-up, check-in, dining and shopping for daily necessities. From the next day, they accompanied students to do admission reports, physical examination, urban sightseeing tour, etc. The Freshmen Orientation Week fully demonstrated the unique humanities touch in Taiwan. This has made the international freshmen inspiring with the kind help, and the expressions of the ambassadors are fulfill with their duty.
