2023-09-06 The National University of Kaohsiung held its entrance ceremony today (6th). President Yueh-Tuan Chen and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Ching Yuan, took turns presiding over the event. In addition to expressing welcome and congratulations, they also encouraged students to make good use of university resources to cultivate interdisciplinary skills, forge connections with like-minded friends, and enhance their competitiveness.
President Yueh-Tuan Chen emphasized the university's strong commitment to forging links with industries, society, and the global community while stressing the integration of knowledge with practical application. In the February 2023 issue of "Cheers" magazine, the National University of Kaohsiung retained its top spot in the "Medium-sized Public University" category in the survey titled "College Students Most Favored by 2000 Enterprises".
Yueh-Tuan Chen emphasizes that, through efforts with both central and local governments, Kaohsiung has established itself as a prominent hub for semiconductors, 5G, and AIoT technologies. The National University of Kaohsiung (NUK) actively cooperates with national policies, and hosts projects from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor. In collaboration with enterprises like ASE, special training programs have been established for exceptional athletes and individuals with non-related.
Yueh-Tuan Chen pointed out that the National University of Kaohsiung has made Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) the core of its institutional governance, connecting with both society and the international community. In addition to establishing partnerships with over 360 universities worldwide, NUK also ranked within the top 30% nationally in the 2022 THE Impact Rankings by Times Higher Education (THE) in the UK. Furthermore, in SDG 12, "Responsible Consumption and Production," NUK leads in the Kaohsiung-Pingtung region. This demonstrates NUK's commitment to the government's 2050 net-zero emissions policy, as evidenced by its signing of the "Green University" declaration.
