2024-06-06 Not only postal services and banking services, but also the 24-hour accessible iPost for package pickups and drop-offs! National University of Kaohsiung (NUK) and Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. have collaborated to establish the NUK Post Office in the Student Activity Center. The opening ceremony was held today (6th), and the university opened a "Fixed Deposit Account" as the first customer to bring good luck to the opening of the business.

President Yueh-Tuan Chen and Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. Chairperson Hong-Mo Wu led the executives of both parties to unveil the plaque for the NUK Post Office. They also visited the post office counter, warmly greeting a mother who came specifically to open an account for her baby, expressing their gratitude and congratulations.

Yueh-Tuan Chen stated that the century-old brand Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. is deeply rooted in the public's mind for its image of "trustworthiness, reliability, and friendliness." The spirit of "service with warmth, touching the people's hearts" aligns perfectly with the NUK's goal of "linking with the industry and society".

Yueh-Tuan Chen emphasized that both parties share the same vision. In March 2022, they signed a MOU on industry-academia cooperation. The NUK became the first higher education partner of Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. to jointly promote SDGs and ESG. Over the past two years, they have steadily implemented this initiative. This includes the inauguration today of the "NUK Post Office," providing comprehensive postal and financial services to faculty, students, and the local community. It has become an important hub linking the university with society and a tangible example of collaboration between academia and businesses in SDGs and ESG.

Chairperson Wu Hong-Mo of Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. stated that for many people, their first passbook comes from the post office. This not only represents the public's trust but also the responsibility of the post office. In recent years, Chunghwa Post has developed "OMO (Online Merge Offline)" to adapt to the digital wave and provide higher-quality services. As a wholly state-owned enterprise belonging to all citizens, it serves as a good neighbor in the community while pursuing development and fulfilling corporate social responsibility, practicing ESG principles. The inauguration of the "NUK Post Office," which caters to faculty, students, and the public, exemplifies these commitments.

In conjunction with the unveiling ceremony, the NUK has specially issued "Sustainable Campus" commemorative stamps. These stamps showcase the achievements of the university's initiatives, featuring distinctive images such as the university gate, the Administration Building, and the Library and Information Building on the postmarks. They also include the Chunghwa Post mascot, the "Pigeon," symbolizing the close collaboration between the two parties and have significant collectible value.
