The Chinese New Year is one of Taiwanese traditional festivals. During the period of this festival, Taiwanese usually wear new clothes, receive red envelops from elders with money inside and gather together to have bountiful feast with our beloved family. With the notion of providing a great opportunity to allow overseas Chinese students understand and learn the traditional customs of Taiwan, the Office of International Affairs and Overseas Chinese Student Association collaborated and held “ 2017 NUK Post-Chinese New year Reunion Banquet” for the students. The banquet was held on March 12th, 2017 at Fishpier Seafood Restaurant with 300 participants, including officials from the Ministry of Education and the Overseas Community Affairs Council. Abundance of events were arranged in this distinguished gathering, such as, Guzheng performance, singing contest, and drawing lots. Through this experience, the NUK hopes the participants may be able to realize the main purpose of the festival and appreciate the beauty of Taiwanese culture.
