Organic Farming on Campus
In order to promote the environmental education and public environmental awareness, National University of Kaohsiung (NUK) reclaimed 550 square meters of cultivated land for interested teachers and students to implement the organic farming on NUK’s campus. These “farmers” hug their land happily in the opening ceremony.
Each team of applicants can use 25 square meters of land to cultivate for research, teaching or experiment depending on their own project or interests. In response to the enhancement of citizen’s awareness on food safety and protecting arable land, the project of “organic farming on campus” has made it happened in NUK campus, said Dr. Hsing-Lung Lien the vice president of NUK.
