2024-04-17  On the 15th, the Office of International Affairs invited Dr. Ha Huy Bang, Chairman of Vietnam’s Dao Duy Tu High School, to lead over a hundred teachers and students to visit the campus, encouraging them to apply for the International Foundation Program(IFP) to experience Taiwan’s unique cultural atmosphere.

The Office of International Affairs at National University of Kaohsiung (NUK), led by Pei Guangxiong and Yeh Yujun, welcomed teachers and students from Dao Duy Tu High School. They arranged Chen Ziyu from the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, Vietnamese Language Group, and Le Yinghao from the International Foundation Program(IFP), to share their experiences in studies and lives in NUK. For example, during the anniversary celebration’s fair, the Office of International Affairs assisted students from the IFP in setting up booths to introduce their culture and sell cuisine, allowing them to build confidence.

In addition, the Office of International Affairs also introduced the "NUK Summer School." The camp was first held in 2023 and attracted students from cooperating schools in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and others. After selection, nearly 40 students participated in the program, where they studied environmental sustainability, Chinese language courses, and visited the Meinong Hakka Cultural Museum, National Museum of Taiwan History, and Huisun Experimental Forest Station. Through these activities, NUK emphasized its commitment to fostering an diverse learning environment.

The teachers and students from Dao Duy Tu High School also visited the Library and Information Building, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Ecological Lake at NUK, experiencing the learning atmosphere firsthand and observing the university’s efforts in alignment with SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) indicators.

In 2019, the National University of Kaohsiung (NUK) and Dao Duy Tu High School signed an MOU to establish sister school ties. That same year, NUK organized visits for students who are second-generation Vietnamese immigrants to their parents’ hometowns, aiming to encourage enrollment. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, physical activities between the two schools were temporarily suspended, but communication remained uninterrupted. This recent visit from Dao Duy Tu High School demonstrates both parties’ continued commitment to deepening their cooperation
